What Sourdough Truly Is
Sourdough is more than bread.
It’s life captured in a jar—flour, water, and wild yeast coming together in a quiet miracle. It rises and rests in its own patient rhythm, teaching us to slow down and trust the process.
It is one of the oldest ways of baking, carrying a tradition that has nourished families for thousands of years. Every starter is alive, every loaf is unique, and every bake is a reminder that good things take time.
For me, sourdough is a return to simplicity. A slice of bread that carries warmth, love, and the joy of creating something with your own hands. A way to gather people around the table, to nourish not just the body—but also the soul.
My story
Andreea Bunescu | The Heart Behind the Course
My sourdough journey began a few years ago out of simple curiosity. It seemed so beautiful and unique that I decided to give it a try. But things didn’t go as I expected. I tried several times to grow my starter—and failed each time.
I felt discouraged, but I didn’t give up completely. After a while, I found the right person to guide me step by step. It was a long and challenging process (it took me more than two weeks!), but I finally succeeded.
The joy of seeing my starter come alive was immense. Since then, baking sourdough has become a true passion. I began baking wholesome loaves for my family and loved ones, selling them and building a brand—and with time, I’ve felt an even stronger desire to share this experience with others. 🤲🏻

Bread as it was meant to be - simple, slow & full of soul.
